FOCUS

At ERF, we’re driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to catalyze positive change and nurture hope through our dedicated focus on Research, Education, and Action. Our collaborative efforts with educators, policymakers, and researchers are aimed at ensuring that every young person, regardless of background or circumstance, has equitable access to transformative learning experiences.

There exists a significant disparity between merely receiving handouts and resources on a topic and actively engaging in nuanced and profound discussions with others to understand its depths. The ERF Blog offers a unique platform for fostering informed conversations among a community of engaged individuals. We believe in creating inclusive environments where every individual feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to seize the myriad opportunities that lie ahead. Whether it’s through conducting groundbreaking research, implementing innovative educational initiatives, or advocating for meaningful policy reforms, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people worldwide.

The ERF team, a vital part of our organization, actively encourages contributions that explore the critical intersections of welcoming communities and quality education, particularly within the complex landscapes of migration and displacement.

Our audience encompasses a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, school leaders, policymakers, and researchers, all of whom share a common passion for advancing education and creating brighter futures for the next generation.

AUDIENCE AND WRITING STYLE

Our commitment at ERF is to uphold the highest standards of clarity, conciseness, and relevance in the content we produce. We prioritize the avoidance of technical jargon, ensuring that our materials are accessible and understandable to our diverse audience.

When submitting written works for consideration, we request that they stand alone as coherent pieces, even if they derive from or encapsulate broader research or journal articles. Should your submission be a summary or excerpt from a larger work, we kindly ask that you provide a link to the original publication for reference.

For those seeking publication on our website, we require transparency regarding any prior online publication of the submitted content. If the work has been previously published elsewhere, please indicate so in your email and provide a link to the original source. Furthermore, we ask that authors obtain permission from the original publishers before reproducing content on our platform.

For insights into the topics we cover and publish, we invite you to explore our website. We encourage contributions that align with our mission and resonate with our audience’s interests.

REFERENCING

To ensure transparency and facilitate further exploration, we encourage the use of hyperlinks within your text to direct readers to online sources, particularly when presenting contentious claims. While incorporating links, we suggest limiting them to no more than 10 per article to maintain readability and focus.

In instances where you’re referencing external sources not accessible online, please adhere to the Harvard citation style for citations. For detailed guidance, we recommend consulting the appropriate style guide for Harvard referencing.

To maintain a seamless reading experience, we advise against using footnotes. Instead, integrate referenced material directly into the text for clarity and accessibility.

EDITING PROCESS AND PUBLICATION

Submitted works will undergo a thorough review process by the esteemed editorial team at ERF. Authors can anticipate receiving a response via email if their blog post piques our interest. While our editors strive to provide timely feedback, please understand that our team size is limited, hence, expect a turn-around time of 7-10 working days.

Upon approval of a submission, there may be a brief exchange between the author(s) and our editorial team to finalize the content before publication. In certain instances, editorial feedback may be provided to enhance the readability and accessibility of the piece. Authors will be given the opportunity to review any substantive changes made prior to the online publication of their work.
