This is a program that we have been doing with the kids of primary and secondary schools where we bring them in the midst of nature in one of the Nature Parks or Sanctuaries and take them around the nature trail or some other activity in the campus. This program is aimed at highlighting the importance of the nature for human existence, hence provoking the efforts towards nature conservation by the visitors in order to bring about a long term impact.

Activities that are part of the program –

  1. Picking up elements of nature – The students while going around the campus would keep a look out for new leaves, feathers, stones or any other amusing elements of nature that they find on the trail.
  2. Discussion around Elements – This would be identification of the flora and fauna of region through the elements collected during the trail.
  3. Games – Nature games would be organized for the students around the identification itself.
  4. This will make the attendees aware and sensitive towards our ecosystem and biodiversity. Further this would also provoke the thought among the younger generation to take concrete steps towards nature conservation and in turn ecosystem and biodiversity conservation.

Impact of the Program –
  • Creativity – The Nature Trail would be created in a manner that it would showcase the importance of different elements of nature along with describing a full ecosystem. This would make the audience understand on the reason for them to take concrete steps towards nature conservation.
  • Sustainable Attitude – SDG 11 deals with Sustainable Cities & Communities which talks about making Cities and Human Settlements safe, resilient and sustainable will be ensured with this project as the project is going to promote sustainable lifestyle among the younger generation.
  • Curiosity & Collaboration – We are all curious by nature but currently the learning methods being adopted at the school and college level are very primitive. We need to move to a different level and this is what this project would provide to the students. Walk through the Nature Trail and understanding the different elements of nature and the importance of each of it in the bigger scheme of things.
