Inauguration of Jal Sparsh Scale Up Project hosted inDistrict Meerut Uttar Pradesh on 15 January 2024
The scale up of the Jal Sparsh project was formally inaugurated in one of the implementation villages of Meerut, Village Syal, Block Rajpura on 15 January 2024. The ceremony was presided over by Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha and MP (Meerut & Hapur Constituency) Shri Rajendra Agrawal ji in the presence of Shri Saurabh Bajpai, DGM, SIDBI along with Shri Babban Rai, DC (NRLM) Meerut. This included the women beneficiaries from 3 villages and also graced by Ms. Ritu Giridhar, Deputy Manager, SIDBI, Shri Bhuvnesh Sharma, ADO (IB), Meerut and Shri Satyapal Singh, Gram Pradhan, Village Syal.
Rakesh ji invited to conduct Nest Making Workshop withAir India Senior Leadership at their Head Quarters
On 2 February 2024, Rakesh ji was invited by Air India to conduct a Nest Making Workshop with the Senior Leadership of Air India. It was a very impactful and interactive workshop for the attendees. They also got to know about our other programs and particularly about the Tetrapak Nests and the Hand Painted Nests. There was an incredible synergy of Rakesh Ji, and Air India employees crafting over 40 sparrow nests. As a result of this, one of the senior leaders at the end of the workshop correctly pointed out that their office is transformed into a haven for our feathered friends!
Jal Sparsh - Waste to Wealth (Water Hyacinth to Marketable Products) Scaled up to 5 states reaching 100 villages and 2000 women
Considering the huge success of the pilot project implemented in 7 villages in District Gautambuddha Nagar, SIDBI has awarded us with the implementation of scaled up Jal Sparsh in 5 states namely Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Assam and Bihar with 100 villages and 2000 women beneficiaries including 20% tribal beneficiaries. The project aims to create a regular income of Rs. 4000 per month per beneficiary and empower them against 7 SDG goals aims to make 20 different products selling nationally and internationally.
Rakesh ji invited to conduct Nest Making Workshop with HSBC Gurugram Office Senior Leadership at TERI
In November 2023, Rakesh ji was invited by The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI) to conduct a Nest Making Workshop with the Senior Leadership of HSBC Gurugram. It was a very impactful and interactive workshop for the attendees. They also got to know about our other programs and particularly about the Tetrapak Nests and the Hand Painted Nests. Along with, they were also introduced to the Water Hyacinth products and how they are promoting sustainable living and are being marketed under the brand name – Jal Sparsh.
Rakesh Khatri ji bestowed upon with prestigious Green Leadership Award, 2023 at ESG India Summit, Raipur
Our founder & Nest Man of India Shri Rakesh Khatri ji was awarded the prestigious Green Leadership Award 2023 at the ESG India Summit 2023 in Raipur by the India CSR Summit. It is absolutely a moment of pride for all of us at Eco Roots Foundation and we thank them and their head Shri Rusen Kumar for acknowledging our efforts towards Sparrow Conservation. The award was recognizing the effort of all those children and participants from RWAs and corporations who have participated in the Nest Making workshops organized by us.
India's top architects made nests with Rakesh ji marking World Environment Day 2023 in collaboration with Kerakoll India
This year on World Environment Day 2023, Rakesh ji conducted Nest Making workshops with the top architectural firms of Delhi and Mumbai including the likes of Architect Hafeez Contractor and Edifice from Mumbai and Gian P Mathur, Sikka Architect Associates, Confluence & Design Forum Initiatives from Delhi and a concluding session at Kerakoll India Head Office in Mumbai. We sincerely thank Kerakoll India for this amazing collaborative initiative which gave us an outreach to the ones who could bring in the design change for bringing the sparrows back.
